" As an Osteopath it can sometimes be hard to find other manual therapists willing to work on you, Alexis Jackson rose to the challenge. Alexis's treatments are a good combination of muscular release and soft tissue work, yet remain relaxing. I was so impressed I now receive regular sessions from her. "

" As a Showjumping and Eventing Trainer and Competitor I appreciate the need to maintain my horses muscular health and joint flexibility, so they can do their jobs to the best of their ability.
Alexis Jackson from Whole Healing understands what it takes to manage and sustain the competitive horse, she has working knowledge of several disciplines to draw on, meaning treatments are tailored to the individual animal. More than happy to recommend. "

" My horse has been treated by Alexis Jackson from Whole Healing for over a year now to keep her in tip top condition. I have seen a huge difference in this time, she has so much more elasticity in her stride and finds it easy to form a correct outline and maintain it. Equine Sports Massage not only helps with my horses school work but also her general well being, she truly enjoys her treatments and regularly falls fast asleep, which is so nice to see.
On seeing the benefit Alexis has made on my horse I thought it important to get myself sorted, I have been treated by Alexis for over 6 months. I have found there has been a huge improvement in my posture and strength and I don't suffer so much discomfort in my lower back.
Alexis is very professional and always talks through what she is doing and what she is feeling. I find it very beneficial that Alexis treats both my horse and myself, as we are able to relate issues found that affect myself or my horse working together. I always feel very confident to be in her hands. I can't recommend Alexis and Whole Healing enough. "

" Alexis from Whole Healing has provided me with ongoing maintenance massage over the last year.  I find this very helpful to support my general flexibility. I am 49 and have done a lot of track sports in my youth, combined with riding my horses now, I feel I must maintain fitness at all costs!
Alex comes to the house, always promptly, and has a very comfortable table she brings with her.  She is a great listener and tailor makes each treatment to suit my various aches and pains. I always feel better for it.
I would certainly recommend her, whether for sports maintenance or just relaxation!  She is most professional and 100% reliable. "

" I was looking for a therapy and therapist to support bringing my horse back into work after a substantial time off through injury. I was prepared to accept that he may have never been comfortable enough to return to ridden work, so required someone that could visualise the long-term, tailor treatments for this on a remedial basis but also formulate a work plan day to day to complement his recovery.
Alexis from Whole Healing combines experience, understanding and dedication to maintain my horses comfort and ability and tailors a work load to suit. Happy to report he is enjoying ridden work and we are looking to getting out and about and showing off this summer.
I have Alexis treat my young horse also, on a regular maintenance basis, as he comes into full work for the first time, aiding his correct muscular development but also improving his confidence when handled.
I would highly recommend her to anyone."

 Case Study Laser Therapy 1

Name - Mrs J
Age - 74 years old
Occupation - Retired

Patient history includes diagnosed L5 – S1 spondylosis, with nerve root right side L5 (2011.) Refrained from surgery, pursued pain management and self-maintenance with physical/manual therapies. Has been under routine osteopathy for over a year for compensatory symptoms relating to initial diagnosis including SI and surrounding soft tissue tension and pain.
Patient presented with constant aching pain 7/10 through lower lumbar and sacral region after over exertion, walking longer distances than normal. Pain inhibited range of motion, notable muscular and fascial tension and was causing patient distress.

Treatment plan included 4 initial treatments to be performed once daily, but allowing for the option of a 24 hour rest period in between treatments to ensure patients comfort.  The condition to be reviewed after 4 treatments with then a further 2 treatments if required at longer increments.

Treatment to follow the appropriate protocol to work through a combination of activation of the removal of associated inflammation, release of soft tissue and muscle through lumbar and sacrum, activation of the lymphatic system and some targeted nerve inhibition for pain control, combined with massage and gentle stretching techniques.
Patient responded well, noted pain reduction from the outset and gradual improvement in range of motion over the initial 4 treatments. A further 2 treatments advised at 48 hour and 72 hour increments with gentle stretching exercises recommended at home and a slow increase in activity levels. Patient continued to show good progress and a return to comfortable daily activity. ‘Top up’ treatments then recommended once a week for the next month whilst paying close attention to patient’s reaction and further recovery.

Follow up after a month patient continues to improve and is happy with progress. Patient has chosen to continue semi regular ‘top up’ treatments to ensure continued pain and condition management.

Patient testimonial:

“ I certainly had my reservations about Laser Therapy but my concerns were listened to and I was put at ease. Completely painless apart from a mild tingling, I found it quite soothing and comforting.
I immediately felt easier from the first treatment and I was able to get good nights sleep that night for the first time in weeks! Alexis was very professional and I always felt comfortable.
I will be keeping up with maintenance treatments, my condition unfortunately won’t go away but it’s very important to me, at the age I’m at, to keep my mobility and I certainly don’t want to go back to where I was when I first came in! Thank you, will happily recommend!”

Case Study Laser Therapy 2

Name – Ms M
Age - 41 years old
Occupation – Gardener

Patient history includes diagnosed Morten’s Neuroma in right foot suspected from tight footwear. Patient has undergone prescribed surgery to remove the dorsal digital nerve (2017.) Physiotherapy advised following surgery and patient recovered fully. Patient has undergone routine chiropractic and sports massage treatments to maintain general good health.
Patient presented with reoccurrence of symptoms associated with Morten’s Neuroma, spasmodic stabbing pain at times 8/10 general discomfort 4/10. Discomfort has caused secondary abnormal posture and loading of the right limb subsequently irritating and inflaming the medial cruciate ligament of the right knee, causing joint instability and sharp pain when turning 7.5/10.

Treatment plan to include 3 initial treatments within 7 days allowing 24-hour between applications to ensure patients comfort and the body’s recovery and adaptation to therapy. Treatment to be reviewed after the first week and then possibly repeated for a further 3 treatments over a 7 day period.

Treatment to follow the appropriate protocol to work through a combination of targeted nerve inhibition for pain control, release of soft tissue through foot and lower limb, support of the lymphatic system and activation of the removal of associated inflammation, combined with massage and gentle stretching techniques.
Patient responded well, notable pain relief from the outset and improvement in stability through the right knee. Patient experienced some discomfort the following 24 hours after the first treatment and a reduction in activity was recommended whilst the body adjusted to treatment. Patient showed steady progress over the following 2 treatments and a slow increase in activity levels. Home exercises advised to increase strength and mobility. Patient continued to show good progress and a return to comfortable daily activity, after a further 3 treatments over 7 days.

Follow up after a month patient continues to improve and is happy with progress. Patient has chosen to continue manual therapies and strengthening exercises, but will return to Laser Therapy should symptoms return.

Patient testimonial:

“I was absolutely gutted when the symptoms of the Morten’s Neuroma came back, after all the pain I had gone through previously. Honestly I didn’t know where to turn, and I didn’t even consider the way I was walking had affected my knee but it all made complete sense.  It really was affecting my work and in the gym.
Was a bit dubious how Laser would help me, but I’ve not looked back. Everything was explained clearly and concisely, I trust Alex completely, no pain in treatment apart from tingly toes! It’s no magic bullet but the recovery was consistent and steady and now there’s no looking back. Fantastic!”
